There are numerous digital advancements in the past years, like Cloud and Big Data, for which there is continuous and rapid evolution. The world is also seeing a huge increase in devices and services that are all connected to the internet, like mobile phones, medical equipment, factory machinery, but also major platforms like Spotify and Netflix.
Enter the next frontier in the digital revolution, The Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). It can help companies increase productivity, cut costs, offer new products and services and deploy new business models in a more agile and dynamic way. This IaaS platform consists of; cloud network, cloud storage, virtual machines and even bare metal machines, all seamlessly integrated and “cooperating” to help business and clients smartly manage their digital environments.
Although infrastructures become agiler, setting up an IaaS environment still requires a good architectural and orchestration strategy to deliver the best solution as fast as possible.
The central question in this internship is:
How can we create an (extended) orchestration solution to fulfill architectural requirements?
Other key questions:
- What orchestration platforms are there?
- Which platform offers the best fit to the Oracle Cloud?
- How can we leverage this solution to customers?
Let us illustrate the context with an example
For our clients, custom images are created to fulfill their requirements also known as a private image. These private images are created on a local workstation and need to be uploaded to the cloud. This image will not be maintained by Oracle. It means that maintaining the image will require quite some manual steps and effort. By using orchestration custom and up to date images can be provisioned in an agile and flexible way.
Deliverables
- Investigate orchestration tool/platforms.
- Investigate which solution would fit the best combined with the Oracle Cloud.
- Create a high-level architectural overview of the solution.
- Write a report on findings of the research to share with the Accenture Oracle practice.
- Apply this use case in a working demo that can be presented to relevant audiences.
- The assignment can be tailored based on the student’s specific expertise or interest

- You are a graduate student in a direction such as Business IT & Management or equivalent
- You have an interest in IT
- You are able to work independently
- You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English
- You are a team player
- You are eager to learn.
