Your day as a Graduate Intern

At 08.30 my day starts with a coffee at the Edge – the office of Deloitte Amsterdam. The whole team is located on the second floor, where almost everyone (including me) has his or her favourite flexplace. After working the first two hours on my thesis, I have a meeting with my thesis supervisor. We discuss the first results and think about what implications the results have for the insurer who shared their data with us. Next: a table football match between interns and directors. The interns win (of course). At 12.00 we enjoy lunch with the whole team, which is the perfect moment to talk about projects from other colleagues, or just to discuss your weekend plans. In the afternoon a Valuation course is scheduled for all the interns and consultants who recently joined Financial Risk. These sessions introduce you to the main subjects that Financial Risk concerns. Afterwards, I spend some more hours on my thesis and at 17.00 the drinks start: the best moment of the week! A large group from Financial Risk joins the Friday drinks and together we celebrate the weekend!
