Your day as a work student
The day starts by entering the Edge, the Deloitte office in Amsterdam, and going to the second floor where the Capital Management, Liquidity & Treasury Risk team is located. Depending on whether or not my schedule is busy I choose either a noise cancelling room or a flexplace next to my colleagues. When I've setup my laptop we'll start the day off with some coffee and chit chat. I start to work on my currently assigned project and make some preparations for the team meeting that day. I meet up with my supervisors and we'll have a conference call with the other team members from abroad. Next up is the 12:00 banking lunch which consists of a luxurious buffet and a presentation on the latest developments in the banking sector. After lunch I'll go to the Sport Edge to fitness or play a game of table football before continuing my assignments. At 16:00 the other work students and I go to the boot-camp. This is a short lecture and business case on one of the many topics of Financial Risk, such as insurance, pensions or derivatives. Then it's already 17:00 and I head over to the bar on the fourth floor. Time for some drinks and to hear the destination of the next team weekend!
