Our Internship Program offers you the opportunity to join Microsoft on a real job role in various job families including Marketing, Sales, Services, IT and Operations. On top of your role, you’ll have the chance to join our dynamic community of interns, enabling you to build a global network of contacts and to gain exposure to real Microsoft business activities and leaders in the world!

Applications to this opportunity are considered for all available Marketing, Public Relations & Communications roles. Typical roles within the Marketing stream are Product Marketing Specialist, Audience Marketing Specialist, and Marketing Communications Specialist.

Product Marketing Intern – You are the key to global marketing. You determine marketing strategy for your area and communicate through marketing plans, product content, and internal and external evangelism. You play a role throughout the marketing cycle: from positioning, messaging and storytelling to determining and orchestrating global launch plans and identifying market research needs. You also own monitoring our competition and building competitive positioning and response plans.
Audience Marketing Intern – You bring an outside-in perspective on customers, the competition, and marketplace dynamics. As the customer advocate, you own the marketing strategy for a specific audience to ensure we are in lock step with their needs. In this role, we need broad thinkers who can collaboratively engage with customers and partners to identify and achieve mutually beneficial results. You will create an audience marketing plan, including new investments that increase product-line business growth in the current fiscal year. You will develop and implement readiness plans for a product line or geography that drive channel capacity and skills to meet audience goals. You will ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of audience-specific marketing content to the field through the analysis of engine utilization and effectiveness, and the optimization of existing engines.
PR & Marketing Communications Intern – You always have the big picture in mind. You are adept at working with team members across business groups and agencies to deliver a global integrated marketing communication plan. This is a high visibility role, as you will manage annual marketing communications priorities and success metrics. You will direct priorities for events and media, public relations and analyst relations. You will oversee production and deployment of advertising and drive the strategy and execution of digital and social media for key topics such as Employer Branding, Corporate Social Responsibly, Diversity & Inclusion and Citizenship. You will determine the optimal mix of engagement vehicles for your product, service, or geography. You’ll need to be a strategic thinker to ensure execution, risks, and global alignment are optimal.
Brand & Internal Communications Intern - Within the internal communications team you work for all Microsoft employees. You will be responsible for the project/event management within the internal communications team. You monitor results, adjust these when necessary, report and communicate with the persons involved and evaluate on impact, quality, time and budget. In this role you should be vigor on execution and implementation to get your colleagues involved and engaged. At Microsoft we see the internal organization as the beating heart of our brand essence and our goal is to create employee brand fans, an engaged advocate who loves our company!
- Pursuing a full time Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in Marketing, Communications or another business related field.
- Education background in Engineering and IT disciplines could be an advantage, particularly for our Technical Marketing roles
- Desire to build a long-term career at Microsoft in a similar function, particularly as part of our full time Microsoft Academy for College Hires (MACH) graduate program
- Inspired by the continually evolving craft of marketing.
- Strong interest and/or understanding of cloud computing, Microsoft Office 365, Dynamics or devices such Xbox
- Thrives and delivers results in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Available to start on 1st Feb 2018
- Fluent in Dutch and English
