Within the Philips M&A team, we have interns working with us on an ongoing basis. Interns will be staffed as a full member of the team and will be involved in different phases of deal transactions, from deal origination, valuation, due diligence, negotiation to closing. Depending on performance, interns will have the chance to take full responsibility for some assignments as the lead.

- Work as full part of the team

- Perform valuation analysis
- Due diligence (both as sell-side and as buy-side)
- Gain experience in project management
- Create presentations for the Board of Management
- Gather information by using various databases (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters Eikon)
Philips M&A is responsible for all acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestment activities exercised by Philips around the globe. The department is comprised of 40 specialists in the fields of acquisition, divestment, integration and disentanglement. Within this department, the deal team’s responsibilities include valuation, due diligence, project management and negotiation of all transactions. Also, our work involves organizing internal approvals at Board level and assisting business groups (our internal clients) on strategic choices. In recent years, the Philips M&A team has successfully completed over 30 international M&A transactions including, in 2016, the IPO of Philips Lighting (EUR 4.5 billion) and the sale of Lumileds (EUR 2.0 billion)
- You are following a Master study in one of the following directions: Finance or Business Economics
- An excellent academic track record (candidates without university grades will not be considered)
- Strong professional drive
- A genuine interest in financial markets
- Other internship experience in finance sector is preferred (e.g. transaction services, equity research, investment banking)
- Dutch is not required
The internship provides a unique opportunity to experience M&A from a strategic, broad and diverse corporate perspective.
Starting date: between 20 August and 20 September (preferably asap)
Length of internship: 4 to 6 months
