Stage - Automation testing for BI and data
Omschrijving
For Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse projects, the major challenge is to deal with huge amount of data and condition the program for changing and complex demands. In order to provide a defect free and reliable report to the customers which may be used for managerial decision process, testing needs to be done effectively and intelligently. This activity is done in various ways by creating tools or manually. But manual testing can never assure the quality of the data warehouse and the reports created because of the volume and complexity of the data.
Currently in many projects, they create their own tools to facilitate testing. In this way there is no standardization of tool and automation approach, also lot of time is invested for basic tooling. Thus its crucial to identify the best automated tools available in the market or to develop a standardized automation tool to handle the basic requirements of DWH/BI testing across Accenture.
This internship assignment should work in line with Tmap/ISTQB principles and with support of ADM to investigate, identify and propose best possible solution for automated testing in BI/DWH project. The result of the assignment will be possible and better solution to enhance automation testing and have uniform automation approach for all related projects.
Focus of this assignment will be Regression and Functional test level

De stage opdracht wordt uitgevoerd voor de Test Services Nederland. Test Services Nederland maakt deel uit van Accenture Technology Solutions.
De afstudeeropdracht bestaat uit twee onderdelen:
Definieer

Assignment needs to work in line with ISTQB/TMap principles and should follow the uniform approach of ADM;

Investigate and identify various test automation tools available in market for data warehouse testing based on test coverage and pricing;

Investigate and identify available automation tools within Accenture created for different projects and possibility to extend for uniformity across projects;

Investigate the possibility to connect the automation tool and HP Quality Centre to upload all the test cases in HP QC repository.
Realisatie

Installation and setup of tools in test environment;

Installation and setup of HP QC in test environment;

Implement a prototype and deliver evaluation report based on test success or failures;

Create a comparison chart with all the available test tools in market with pros and cons and pricing details;

Demonstrate and present the tool and realized prototype.
