Are you the enthusiastic, talented intern we’re looking for?
Are you looking for an internship in which you can be part of an organization deploying Lean in the office, and aiming to be seen by our clients as the trusted partner who is continuously improving, while stimulating an inspiring and learning environment for its employees? Then this is the position for you! We are looking for a candidate that can support HR projects and the PPS (Philips People Services) organization with change management and communication activities through a range of internal channels from e-newsletters to social media.
The focus will be on two key assignments:
•Being part of the HR Kaizen Competition organizing team which is a competition for the HR Community that drives engagement around continuous improvement;
•Investigate how we can improve the effectiveness of our communication towards different stakeholders in and outside the HR Community, define and implement improvements
You will be part of the Global Operational Excellence team and will co-operate with colleagues across Philips and across countries.
Your responsibilities
•Manage the PPS communication standards and ensure any communication adhere to the standards
•Assist in the provision and delivery of effective and high quality communication and training materials
•Create content (success stories/videos/news items)
•Develop ideas and new approaches for engagement and collaboration with our key audience using interactive platforms such as Connect Us (internal social media).
•Support planning and execution of meetings/events (e.g. PPS webcasts)
•Support several projects regarding communication to the field
•Support in diverse initiatives of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team (Culture program, upgrade organizational capabilities, Quality program, PPS learning curricula, HR Kaizen Competition, Lean deployment in HR, etc…)
Philips People Services (PPS) is the Human Resources Shared Services organization of Philips. A team of HR professionals delivering HR services to Philips employees and managers at all stages of the career cycle. PPS delivers cost-effective people services by leveraging economies of scale, globalizing processes and simplifying the ways of working, while delivering superior HR experiences by listening and acting on our customers’ feedback. In 2013 we embarked on a major journey of continuous improvement and more productivity: deploying Lean in the office.
The global OpEx team of PPS is driving this deployment, together with their regional counterparts.
At the same time we also have other key responsibilities:
•Manage KPI reporting and analysis
•Measure against other organizations via benchmarking
•Drive PPS Quality Program and be the champion of Lean in HR
•Drive and embed continuous improvement
•Build and drive knowledge management
•Manage internal PPS communications
•Drive cultural changes
A front seat in the heart of a HR Shared Services organization in the midst of deploying Lean in the office.
•This internship assignment is not suitable to do your thesis
•Duration: 6 months
•We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, not later than October 2014
1. Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
2. A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
3. A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
4. The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
5. Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)
To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:
Currently studying towards your Bachelor HBO (BBA) / University Bachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
o Business Administration
o (International) Business Management
o Communications
o Economics
o Human Resources
o Psychology
•Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills in English (other languages are a plus)
•Ability to learn quickly
•Can-do attitude with a positive, creative and curious mindset
•Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
•Analytical and problem solving skills, also challenging the status quo
•Cultural awareness affinity to work in a global (partially virtual) team
•Ability to work independently, while being a team player at heart
•Confidence to work with senior management.
•Able to work and live in Eindhoven area
