Internship Architecture Validation

The challenge of this internship is to investigate three years of projects of our Architecture Validation practice to identify the long term benefits and develop suggestions of new approaches to increase the impact. This will require working with former participants from IT and Business across Philips.
Your responsibilities
Since January 2012 the department Architecture and Platform (A&P) introduced a new method of validating IT projects; Framing and Value Prototyping. This method builds business and IT assurance and alignment on IT applications within PIL (Philips Integrated Landscape). The objective of this internship is to validate and compare the results of the projects that have been done before and after this date to show the tangible value of the new method.
Main activities are: Interviewing stakeholders, Research framing and value prototype reports, Create a method to validate a framing. With the above, create a method to show the tangible value of a framing and value prototype (leading by example).
The goal of the internship is to prove the tangible value of framing and value prototyping within Philips.
The deliverable for this internship is a case, in any particular form; the A&P department can use to show the tangible value of framing and value prototyping to the business. The expectations are a creative and valuable case, which is practical and usable to the department.
The scope of the internship lies within Philips IT, business and project management. You will work for the Architecture & Platform Department, more specifically the Framing and Value Prototyping team. The most important stakeholders of the assignment are the current and old framing managers, Capgemini consultants who have worked on the framings and value prototypes, and the multidisciplinary core teams of a framing.
Due to the high level of creative possibilities, the wide scope of the assignment and the multidisciplinary stakeholders, the internship will offer a steep and valuable learning curve.

•Duration: 4 - 6 months
•We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, not later than October 2014
1. Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
2. A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
3. A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
4. The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
5. Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)
To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:
Currently studying towards your Bachelor HBO (BBA) / Bachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
o Business Informatics
o Business Economics
o (International)Business Management
o Business Administration
· Your English is good; writing/speaking
· You are a team player
· Have excellent communication skills
· Have analytical skills
· You are interested in the link between IT and Business.
