Your challenge

Are you the enthusiastic, talented intern we’re looking for?

Set up a harvesting process for the Service Parts & Repair department of Philips Healthcare Imaging Systems which enables re-use of components from service parts which cannot be repaired as a whole. The thesis starts with a feasibility study. Once positive, implementation can start meaning the delivery of SAP MBP process overview incl. test results and creation of process/work instructions for employees.

Aim is to reduce (repair) cost, reduce scrap and improve the (repair) process efficacy by implementing a harvesting process. Main activities and deliverables are:
Feasibility study incl. business case (financial), quality & regulatory compliancy aspects, SAP implementation options & issues and a high level process overview
Implementation (if feasibility study is positive) of the logistic & SAP MBP process
Detailed process descriptions and work instructions for employees.
Deliverable 1 is the main objective. 2 & 3 can be part of a follow up thesis (pending available time)

Your team

· You will report to the project manager and indirect to the unit managers of the SP&R department in Best which are key stakeholders next to our process engineer, purchasing group and finance department.
· Service Parts & Repair (SP&R) is part of the Customer Service organization of the Imaging Systems Business Group of Philips Healthcare. SP&R is a global organization where SP&R in Best (+/- 50FTE) focuses on repairs for the iXR and MR Business Innovation Units.

· This internship is suitable for a graduation thesis
· Duration: 6 months
· We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, not later than November 2014

Internship conditions

· Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
· A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
· A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.

We are looking for

· Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
· A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
· A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
· The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
· Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:

· Currently studying towards your Bachelor HBO (BBA) / Bachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
o Business Informatics
o Computer Sciences
o ICT
o Logistics
o Supply Chain Management

· Basic SAP/ERP systems knowledge is a pré
