Your challenge

Are you the enthusiastic, talented intern we’re looking for?
Support our core team in translating one innovative idea via consumer insights into compelling business propositions and build a business plan for a new product service combination!

Your responsibilities

In your role you are responsibilities for write a thesis or doing an internship in the area of:

translating strategic innovation into a compelling business proposition taking into account e.g. technology readiness levels, consumer insights and market acceptance
building a plan in bringing this new product service combination in one of our Philips sector
· developing new service innovations (rather new to Philips) and emphasizing and challenging the business side of it

A typical project example is the identification of a business market combination for a specific product / service addressing the questions 'Should we?' (e.g. potential risks, potential reward, fit to our brand pillars, ...) and 'Can we?' (e.g. fit to strategy, feasibility, deliver on promise, offer in the market, ...). This would include various disciplines and collaboration at various levels in the Philips organization and beyond.

Your team

This team is new within Philips and is positioned within Philips Research to emphasize business and service innovative opportunities in an early stage. Philips Research is a global organization that helps Philips introduces meaningful innovations that improve people's lives. We provide technology options for innovations in the area of health and well-being, targeted at both developed and emerging markets. Positioned at the front-end of the innovation process, we work on everything from spotting trends and ideation to proof of concept and - where needed - first-of-a-kind product development.

Our offer

We offer you the opportunity to work on innovation projects and/ or support the team in translating service innovation ideas and concepts into real life applications.

This is a non-thesis assignment
Duration: 3 - 6 months
We prefer students able to start in February or March 2015
Internship conditions:
· Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
· A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
· A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
· The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
· Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

We are looking for

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:

· Currently studying towards your Master of science WO (Msc.) in:
o Business Administration
o Business Economics
o Finance
o Marketing

· innovative services and consulting mindset
· understanding of product service combinations
· interest in business modeling and financial modeling in an international environment
· interest in B2C as well as B2B high-tech and or service industries
fluent in English, both written and verbal
