Your challenge:

Philips is implementing new advanced collaboration solutions to work with its suppliers leveraging the Open Innovation approach. One of those is SPICE (Supplier Proposal for Innovation & Creative Entrepreneurship), a virtual collaboration room for Philips and its partners to co-create tomorrow’s products.

Your responsibilities:

 

Join our SPICE team, part of Philips Corporate Procurement and contribute to make this program a breakthrough solution recognized in the industry!

You will build further the existing SPICE platform to make it the one-stop way for Philips employees and suppliers to generate, grow and select innovations for Philips portfolio. You will both improve the existing solution (user interface / theming, reporting, single-sign-on, etc.) and bring in any new features or proposal to cover the full innovation process. You will: 

  • Understand process & business requirements to propose improved features in SPICE
  • Develop, test & deploy new features
  • Implement community management and engagement solutions (e.g. gamification…)
  • Develop a mobile app (iOS, Android / HTML5)
  • Develop a maintenance plan for the platform
  • Co-manage and train the community of suppliers and Philips users
  • Provide your creative inputs, insights and suggestions on improving the program and the platform

  • Duration: 6 months (can be discussed to extend)
  • We prefer students to be able to start as soon as possible, no later than April 2017 

You will be working at the High Tech Campus located in Eindhoven. 

 

Internship conditions:

 

  • Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
  • A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
  • A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
  • The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
  • Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

 

We are looking for:

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you: 

  • Currently studying towards your UniversityBachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
  • Computer Science
  • Software Technology
  • Engineering Software

 

  • Education or experience in (Open) Innovation Management and/or Procurement is a plus.

     

We are also looking for the following competences:

  • Web Design based on Drupal CMS (you have already built medium-high complexity web applications and have some sound knowledge of Drupal).Is preferred.
  • Strong innovative mindset, with capability of looking beyond the application as such;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills combined with a strong business sense and a drive for business impact;
  • Knowledge of MS (Sharepoint is a plus)
  • Solid spoken and written English skills;
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong self-drive
