Impact of Energy Transition on Businesses

In the EU there is an increase in the demand and expected supply of renewable energy. As a results the energy system and composition for countries change and so do their connections and interdependencies. Affected nations will need to secure the supply of energy in this changing energy landscape. Companies in the natural resources industry are affected by the changes in energy demand, supply and this wider geopolitical landscape.

The research and internship should be focused on providing insights on the (future) geopolitical positioning and relations of the NL to secure its supply of energy, and the effect on (incumbent) businesses in the resources industry. This includes:

• Articulating the role of the EU, the Dutch government and incumbent businesses in the evolving energy landscape
• Develop mid- to long-term scenarios that can serve as lenses to monitor developments
• Develop a framework with implications of the changes for businesses 
• Include leading and lagging indicators to help in understanding the movements

Place in the organization

As an intern, you will join the Accenture Resources operating group of Accenture Consulting. This group serves clients in the chemicals, energy, natural resources and utilities industries across a broad range of management, operational and IT topics. You will be supported by a team of experienced consultants, and have access to Accenture’s global and local assets.
