Role description

During the internship, you are expected to do research that is related to Software Defined Networks. You will answer questions within the scope of Software Defined Networks but you are free to investigate additional or new point of views.

Below you will find a few important principles:

  1. Describe and compare the different technological developments in networking and network designs that relate to the issue of making networks ‘software defined’ and the automatization of their implementations.
  2. Investigate the possible applications and effects within companies (enterprise networks) and service providers (service provider networks) that can be developed with the help of SDN. Which costs can be reduced? And which new services can telecom and cable service companies develop with SDN-technologies and network (function) virtualization (NFV)?
  3. Analyse the impact of the fundamental changes in technology on company processes. What is the impact of the technical change and possibilities for the organization and division of tasks? Does SDN for example lead to DevOps? What is the impact of SDN and network automatization on the work of network providers? And which tools and possibilities are available for network automatization and what is the possibility for integration with other tools?
  4. Accenture will help you by providing access to domain experts, internal research that has already been done in this area and contacts with our clients for conservations and the collection of data.
