Internship: Procurement Engineering - Project support (suitable for thesis)
Job Description
Directly contribute to bringing new products to market and make the optimal trade-off between value and costs. You would represent procurement in multiple Personal Health related businesses
You are responsible for
- Representing procurement in the business in product creation projects.
- Being a key partner in significant product cost reduction activities, in early phase innovation or in the manufacturing phase.
- Being able to identify opportunities in new product design process through target costing, and managing cost drivers and data sources to improve the design decision making.
- Providing analytics on savings performance to ensure ideas are implemented and targets are realized.
- Contributing in your own area of expertise in DfX conventions combining a strong business sense, analytical skills and teamwork
- Creating benchmark PowerPoint presentations based on excellent MS Office skills and your strategic insights.
A small international and dedicated procurement team, based in Eindhoven and Amsterdam and cooperate closely with the Procurement Engineering Business Partners on various projects. Next to this you will team up with colleagues in marketing, innovation and commodity management.
- Currently studying towards your University Master in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical- or Electronic Engineering, Business Management or Management of Technology
- Understanding the basic principles of executing cost down projects, cost engineering, and the flow of materials/goods (mandatory technical skills)
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills combined with a strong business sense and a drive for business impact (mandatory technical skills)
- Ability to manage and organize both your own work as well as projects and senior executive meetings; (required personal skills)
- Solid spoken and written English skills (language)

- Location: depending on the location of the candidate this position could either be fulfilled from Eindhoven, Amsterdam or Drachten
- Duration: minimum of 6 months.
- We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, but we also offer this internship with starting date jan/feb 2018
