Internship: Develop Measurement method Coffee appliances (Thesis)
Job Description
We expect you to conduct a thesis about the development of a custom measurement equipment, focusing on the motor control of the equipment.
In this role, you have the opportunity to
Work in a team with various disciplines, learn about development processes for consumer appliances
You are responsible for
- Development of a measuring equipment for coffee machines. Main challenge is to develop the motor control of the equipment.
- The project will consist of constructing a measurement machine with moving parts, testing the device and integrating it with current laboratory procedures. The design and creation of the user interface for the machine is an optional part of the project.

Coffee that is part of Domestic Appliances. In Drachten, we carry out innovation projects for different products being the Senseo, Dripfilter and Full Automatic Coffee Machines.

Over 600 engineers work continuously on new products in our dynamic, multidisciplinary and international Consumer Lifestyle department in Drachten. Product highlights are the Wake-up Light, the One-touch Espresso Machine and water & air purification solutions.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Currently studying towards you Bachelor degree in Mechatronics or Electronics
- Important to have knowledge of Motor control, Microcontroller programming, Electronics
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Team player
- Additionally, knowledge of user interface design and/or data manipulation would be welcome.
