What are you going to do?
Pricing and Revenue Management is at the core of Air France – KLM Cargo commercial organization. With a responsibility of over 2 billion EUR annually, the aim is to optimize cargo contribution and ensure an adequate mix of products on board of our cargo flights.
The department Development & Process Support designs, builds and manages web based tools using Big Data and AI techniques that support all PRM processes. Our joint ambition is to be at the forefront of pricing and revenue management in the cargo industry.
With online bookings capturing an ever-growing share of our business, we are looking for a Data Analytics Intern that can dive into a new dataset that captures customer booking and request behavior from our website. This new dataset is meant to enhance steering and data-driven decision support within PRM. As a Data Analytics Intern, you will look for correlations, patterns and build a data model that will support pricing managers in better setting Cargo price points and adjusting their strategies.
As a Data Analytics Intern, you will work in an innovative environment alongside PRM and Operations Research experts. You will not only work on the data visualization and transformation, but also on how to bring your data model in production. With guidance from in-house data and tooling suppliers, you will be incorporating your data model in one of the existing tools at Air France – KLM Cargo.
DPS is part of MRN (Marketing, Pricing & Revenue Management and Network) of Air France-KLM Cargo. The Consultant Data Analytics reports to the Director DPS. You will be part of a diverse team based in CDG and AMS, with an ambitious plan. You will be based in AMS / Schiphol-East.
You analyze in no time to find the root cause of a problem. On your own or in a team, you learn quickly and always go for real impact. You don’t have to be asked to start something. You know how to present and communicate to different target groups. You like to work in a new and diverse environment, dealing with multiple cultures.
You want to join AFKL Cargo, a dynamic business, part of the worldwide logistics environment, working in a joint AFKL team paving the road of our Cargo transformation and innovation.
Next to this, you have:
- a University or HBO bachelor degree in a business/finance or data technical discipline (e.g. Econometrics, Data Analytics/Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration, Statistics), or Engineering degree;
- excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken);
- experience with and knowledge of data analysis and data modeling in Python and preferably the following:
- SQL/Oracle database querying knowledge or or you are willing to become proficient in this.
- Knowledge of one data visualization tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
- Cargo (and PRM) business processes
