Your responsibilities
Within Group Consolidation and Reporting team, we currently have an internship assignment available in which you will work together with us on consolidation and reporting. You will:
· Gain knowledge of the reporting and consolidation landscape of Philips, having advanced systems and processes in place to provide extensive high quality reporting
· Improve your accounting (IFRS) and reporting skills,
· Do analytical review and analysis,
· Be part of the multicultural team building the annual report,
· Accelerated learning of how the Philips Group is structured and works at the “core”
· Gaining understanding of knowledge management
· Improved communication and presentation skills
· Improving the ability of working in a team and being part of a complex process
You will get various assignments, such as:
· Perform analytical review and follow-up on reported data from Philips organizations all over the world, increasing the understanding and quality of data reported.
· Preparation of consolidation or correction journal entries
· As part of our review cycles check on consistency and correctness of parts of the annual report
· Deliver reports and analysis on accounting and reporting questions
· Support Project Management in one of our key initiatives such as Annual Report, Finance Knowledge Management or topical deep dives. Perhaps we will let you also setup a webcast and present the opening. We will suit opportunities to your talents and give you a chance to see what you can do.
· Work out process planning for the team
Our Group Consolidation and Reporting team, based in Amsterdam, is part of Group Control and is mainly responsible for the internal and external reporting of Philips. The Group Consolidation and Reporting team comprises of professionals who work as a team to generate high-quality output in this dynamic, fast-moving environment at the headquarters of the Company. Specifically, it can be divided in the following main areas:
· Internal financial reporting of business performance: monthly closing, consolidation and reporting, quarterly forecasting, and annual operating plan.
· External reporting for quarterly press releases and the Annual Report.
· Financial reporting and knowledge improvement projects
Group Consolidation and Reporting focuses on:
· Consolidation, analytical review and reporting of the Philips Group profit & loss account, balance sheet, cash flow statements and other disclosures, ensuring a high quality reporting in line with IFRS. The team is in contact with sectors, markets and specialist functions throughout the organization.
· Providing guidance, setting reporting standards and giving support.
· Creation and publication of quarterly press releases and annual report.
· Finance Project management: specific projects focused on improving the financial processes and the financial reporting & analysis, including the Annual Reporting project.
· Finance Knowledge Management: providing solutions to build and maintain the financial function competencies such as professional trainings, informing on changes in reporting, accounting and controlling and knowledge management.

· Duration: 6-7 months
· We prefer students able to start per August/September 2014
Internship conditions:
1. Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
2. A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
3. A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
4. The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:
· Currently studying towards your University Master in science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
o Accountancy
o Finance
o Business Administration
o Business Economics
o Economics
· Fluent in English
· A fast learner and a hands-on mentality
· Adapting quickly
· A team player
· A dedicated professional
· Possessing excellent communication skills
· Having a proven ability to deliver high quality results in a high pressure environment
· Displaying an above average level of computer literacy including excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and some knowledge of ERP systems (preferred SAP)
