Your challenge

The internship will be about marketing analysis of existing sources (market data, consumer data, online data, etc). It involves market data analytics and desk research, which will challenge you in your analytical skills, but also in how bringing data to live, by representing them in an engaging way.

Your responsibilities

You will be supporting the Consumer and Marketing Intelligence department of DA. You will be analyzing market data, Ratings & Reviews, online shopping behavior, analysis of online retailer websites statistics, etc. Also consumer data can be part of the analysis.

Your team

You will be part of the Consumer & Market Intelligence (CMI) team in Domestic Appliances. The team consists of the head of Marketing Intelligence, 4 consumer intelligence researchers and 2 market analysts.

The team works mainly for the marketing managers in the DA categories: Kitchen Appliances, Garment Care, Floor Care, and Air. The geographical scope is world-wide. Another important internal stakeholder for you will be the shopper marketer for Domestic Appliances, who is part of the global Marketing team.

Our offer

The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience with global market analytics, which encompasses projects in Western as well as non-Western markets. You will be involved in a variety of tasks ranging from monthly reporting to strategic deep dives, under supervision of the marketing intelligence manager. You will be a full member of the market intelligence team, which is part of the global marketing team in the business.

The internship will be full-time dedicated to the support of the running projects. In terms of subjects, there will be opportunities to feed into your master thesis. But the thesis as such, is not part of the internship offer.

  • We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, not later than January / February 2015

Internship conditions:
· Students on work placement or final-year study assignment are paid a work placement or final-year study assignment allowance.
· A student on a work placement or final-year study assignment is paid an allowance towards rented accommodation, depending on his/her situation. This will be determined setting up the Intern Contract.
· A student on work placement or final-year study assignment who can prove that he/she is not entitled to a student card for public transport (OV-studentenkaart) is paid an allowance to cover the cost of travel between home and the place of work in accordance with the Conditions of Employment Guideline.
· The student is entitled to paid leave on the basis of 1 day per month.
· Opportunity to buy Philips products with tax benefit (Philips MyShop)

We are looking for

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:

· Currently studying towards your University Bachelor of Science/Master of Science WO (Bsc./Msc.):
o Business Economics
o (International) Business Management
o Economics
o Marketing
o Psychology
o Social Sciences

· Fluent in English
· Knowledge of consumer behavior, marketing, statistics
· Competences: analytical skills, communication skills
