Your challenge

Support a Marketing specialist function in all its aspects: you will learn why Retail is Detail and how you can drive success at Point of Sales thru analyzing and activating Shopper Insights. Be prepared to take initiatives, follow thru your work, developed your listening and analytic skills, last but not least have a hands on mentality.

Your responsibilities

You will support the Global Shopper Marketing DA function into the:

o Communication between the BG DA and the countries (Marketing Manager & Trade Shopper Marketing Manager) on an operational level via our SharePoint: updating the Shopper Insights Library and best practices section + general maintenance and updates.

o Support the Shopper Marketer in developing the best Point Of Sales solution for key launches and Category shopping solutions: hardware material till Feature card contents and follow up on external agencies briefing (communication/design agencies involved in project)

o Assist in the translation of Shopper studies content into actionable insights:
§ questionnaire check
§ create reports/matrix for SharePoint publication
§ Insights and content gathering for Feature Cards and other Shopper activation tools done in cooperation with Marcom, Consumer Marketing Manager and key markets.

o Manage the setup of 2/3 internal events / year for the Shopper Marketing part

o Organize store checks for the business, write the reports and manage the store picture database

o In charge of creating the templates of CO best practices and organize quarterly best practice sharing sessions.

Your team

You will be part of Philips Consumer Lifestyle in the Domestic Appliances Business Group. Business Group (BG ) Domestic appliances is part of the Consumer Lifestyle sector at Philips that plays primarily in one of the four Health and Well-being value spaces ( Personal Care, Interactive Living, Home Living , and Healthy Life) , namely Home Living.

This Business Group manages creation, development and market introduction of products and propositions globally. Our products are in the areas of Kitchen Appliances, Garment Care, Floor Care, Water & Air. Within Business Group Domestic Appliances the intern will be part of the Central Marketing Team to support the Global Shopper Marketer

Our offer

During this internship assignment you will work on operational Downstream Marketing Project management, the goal is to support the Global Shopper function. After this internship you will have a clear idea about what Shopper Marketing is at Philips Consumer Lifestyle what it can brings to a company and why it is part of the Management agenda.

· Thesis can be discussed and included.
· Duration: 6 – 12 months. We prefer students able to perform a 12 months internship.
· We prefer students able to start as soon as possible, not later than August/September 2014

We are looking for

To be successful in this internship we are looking for you:

· Currently studying towards your University Bachelor of Science/Master of science WO (Bsc./Msc.) in:
o Business Administration
o (International) Business Management
o Marketing

The ideal candidate:

· Is pragmatic with strong affinity with Retail environment and Downstream Marketing (Retail Marketing specialization is a plus)
· Creative, able to think “out of the box” and problem solver
· Has great qualities for project & time management involving stakeholders with different cultural background and expertise
· Language required: English
