Omschrijving bedrijf/afdeling
The Data Innovation Lab has multiple assignments that we would like to carry out by working closely together with the business (the internal business units at Schiphol Group)
By using Data mining, data preparation and machine learning we deliver new trends, insights and patterns on a multitude of possible high volume and high-dimensional data formats (data can be structured data from our Schiphol DWH sources, texts, images, API’s, webscraping etc.). What we are doing with this? Think with us. We are a Lab and no idea is crazy enough as long as it is providing value for our airport and involves smart application of machine learning intelligence.
We will give you a specific assignment and make sure you’ll be challenged throughout your full internship (5-6 months). We will decide your assignment together with your supervisor and the Lab team. It will have a Machine Learning component as THE most important part of your final delivery.
You will decide on your daily schedule yourself as long as you will deliver a valuable end result that is potentially implementable in the business. You decide how you get there. You can use whatever tooling, packages, scripts are available as long as it is Open Source
We work with new innovative Open Source tooling so basic programming skills are a must (at least one the following languages: Java, Scala, R and Python but all you other IT/technology knowledge is more than welcome)
* A sound base of statistical modeling, business analytics is a plus;
* You master the basics of Machine Learning (classification/ clustering/ collaborative filtering, dimensionality reduction etc.) and can apply this at a basic level;
* We are looking for an independent individual that is driven by data and passionate about innovation.
