As an intern you work for the R&D department. SIG is highly appreciative of her Interns and seriously invests in their growth. Here’s how.

First of all, we offer Research internships, allowing you to actually work on your thesis. You will have weekly research meetings with our seasoned research team and Chief Research Officer (who also holds a position as a professor and is a member of the Board). Offcourse you have your own Mentor assigned, assisting and coaching you on all aspects of the internship and making sure your experience at SIG is of high value. Next tot that we actively involve you in our product development initiatives, from the initiation phase through implementation and all aspects that come with it.

Our introduction program and weekly in-house company trainings, in which you will participate, cover all the different activities within the organization, ranging from Finance and Sales to IT security and Strategy. This allows you to acquire knowledge outside your fields of expertise.

After 4 to 6 weeks, you present your research approach to the entire company during a 10 minutes presentation. You will enhance your presentation skills, promote your research and benefit form input of our employees or their support if needed.

Approximately one month before the end of your Internship, you will be involved in career counselling with our Corporate Recruiter and CRO. Topics vary from updating your LinkedIn profile or CV, to introductions to companies where you want to pursue your career. At SIG Interns have the opportunity of a permanent career after graduation. Our office in Amsterdam provides a great work environment, and you receive a travel allowance, if applicable, and earn an income while learning.

 

Internship

 

As an intern you work for the R&D department of SIG. Under the supervision of SIG researchers, you carry out research to solve problems (both technical and non-technical) in the area of software quality. Solution to these problems must be both practical and scientifically sound. You will be working on your thesis related to the measurement of software quality.

One of the current subjects is Green software.

 

Typically internship projects last for six months. In a few cases this is adjusted to meet project requirements. Together with the University and SIG you define your own research topic. We are always willing to work with you on new ideas.

Profile

• Bachelor or Master Student in Information Technology or Business
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to delve into specific details and exhibit abstraction skills
• Some experience with software development is an advantage but no prerequisite
• Affinity with the internship topic

Duration and location

Typically internship projects last for six months. In a few case this is adjusted to meet project requirements. There is also a summer internship program for two months (in July and August) targeted to practical or well-defined problems.You will be based in Amsterdam. Please note that we do not support any relocation facilities or cover any relocation or travel expenses out-side of the Netherlands.
