At a glance

Are you a curious and proactive university student with an affinity for strategy and the financial sector? Do you want to work on market analyses that have an impact on ABN AMRO's business strategy? Start as an intern at the Business Strategy Office of P&BB, the business unit of ABN AMRO that serves retail and SME clients. Within this environment, the business strategy office serves as strategic accelerator and sparring partner to the management team of P&BB.

Your working environment

During the internship (20 - 26 weeks), you will work as part of the ambitious, outgoing and positive P&BB strategy office. The team works on strategic analyses and projects for the P&BB client unit and prepares stakeholder updates for senior management. As an intern in the team, you will: 

  • Conduct market analyses (outside-in);  
  • Draft strategic advice and insights based on those analyses; 
  • Support the strategy consultants in projects;  
  • Participate and contribute to team meetings;  
  • Bring forth your own initiatives to enhance the client unit.

Your profile

Are you analytical, proactive, outspoken, eager to learn, possess a good sense of humor, and do you have an affinity for strategy? We are looking for you!  

  • Academic background with an (or almost completed) bachelor's or master's degree; 
  • You have pursued a relevant degree (for example, in strategy, finance, or business economics); 
  • Strong English language skills, both written and spoken;
  • Proven affinity or connection with the Netherlands, examples include the ability to speak Dutch, previous study or work experience and/or a personal connection with the Netherlands;
  • You are seeking a 26-week internship (minimum of 20 weeks) starting in 2023 (or early 2024); 
  • You are available at least 4 days per week;

Please note:

  • You are expected to be physically present at the office (in Amsterdam) at least 2 days per week;
  • Applications without a grade list will not be taken into account;
  • Specify your preferred starting date in your cover letter;
  • All required work documents (e.g. Visa for students / graduates from outside the EU) need to be arranged by the candidate.

CASt, the Club ABN AMRO Interns, organises both content-driven and social (online) events. You'll also have the opportunity to develop hard skills through challenging e-learnings via the ABN AMRO Academy.

Lastly, you will receive an internship compensation of 750 euros per month.
